Featured HELP IS THIS PEN DRAWING OR ETCHING?

THIS WAS INSIDE A MUNCH BOOK ABOUT HIS PAINTINGS AND BIOGRAPHY.
IT IS PAINTED IN WATERCOLOR BUT I CANT TELL IF ITS AN INK DRAWING OR AN ETCHING HAND PAINTED.
YOUR OPINION PLEASE.

 

Doesn't look like an etching.

 

It is combination watercolor and colored pens.

It may have been done with a calligraphy style (flat) nib pen. The lines don't seem to be sharp enough, nor consistent enough, to have been done with a calligraphy pen.

I used to enjoy using flat-nib pens that I didn't have to dip into india ink. This has the softer effect of that style of pen. I don't think it's older than the 1970s.

 

It's a nice find... imo. I enjoy finding random things that people leave inside books. Sometimes they are as interesting as the books are!

 

I was eating lunch with an old work buddy the other day, he said he found a $50 bill in a book he picked up at an estate sale.
