These two huge decorative lacquer plates measure over 45cm diameter each.

They are decorated with designs after the work of contemporary Chinese artists Xiaoyan Chen and Ting Shao Kuang

They seem to be a mixture of printing and hand finishing. Any thoughts on their origin?

They came from the collection of a family who were in China in the 80s and 90s

    Thanks in advance

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

On the right side of the back, that I enlarged & lightened a bit, it kind of looks like there are 3 letters or marks of some sort.......but I couldn't define them any better...........
