    Hi All
Is 922 a valid silver purity standard? Could not find references...
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks!

    No.

Could you be misreading 925 badly stamped or worn?

If the number is clear it could be a pattern number.

As an afterthought pattern numbers seem to be more common on silverplated items.

Thanks...I think you are right...the item is rather silver plated looking shiny stuff rather than the silver lustre... But the number bothered me..
