this is the only image I can seem to upload, it won’t allow me to post an image of the plate?! The only thing I have been able to find is the date so far. Any help gratefully received, thanks! Once I have posted I will see if I can attach more images. EFECBA90-0516-43E2-B594-36CC0F97EDD4.jpeg

Hi Nealrach and welcome! Often it's the size of the file that keeps photos from loading. You may need to reduce the size.

If you've worked on a date I'm guessing you already know its a Mintons mark shown in the link as being after 1873 because of the "s". The date mark seems to be a reversed one shown for 1912.

I've seen people on the boards say, if your photos are on your phone, you need to send them to your email as medium. Then you can paste them here.

    Welcome to the board.

Does anyone know if it has any value. Thanks in advance!

This would appear to be your plate but in a different color. The seller says it was represented as Mintons but it isn't marked however their fuzzy photo seems to show a mark like yours. I tried to edit their mark photo but it's still fuzzy.

What is it about your plate you're hoping to find? If someone has a worthpoint subscription they could tell you what this one sold for but it's not too recent, April 2014.

Ah yes, thank you, more or less identical isn’t it!
I was just hoping to gain some information about it and was also intrigued as I couldn’t find anything like it!

It is a really pretty plate. I agree that the leaf is especially nice and real looking.

Minton majolica. That ought to help the search. It's a plane tree leaf. Here, those are twenty quid or so, but ymmv.

I've been down a rabbit hole and back when you mentioned plane trees. I'm thinking its a London plane you're talking about though apparently isn't native to the UK but hybrid of imported trees. Here in the US I've certainly heard of them but not specifically where I am.

    I love hate Google.

I believe the American native tree of the sames genus is the American sycamore (though apparently all sycamores aren't related to planes). The American sycamore has a different leaf.

Then to confuse matters more there is a sycamore maple and a planetree maple.

I'm just going with pretty five lobed leaf plate:).

(And let's not talk about wheat/corn/maize;))

Heh. Yes, a London plane, which is a different thing again from a British sycamore, although the leaves look a bit similar. Sycamores are a bit of a pain.
