Have this object I picked up made from brass marked Bellows Patents with a leather strap weighted at both ends with pieces of steel and have no idea of its use. C52F8E02-ABDA-41FA-B0BA-58E9CB0534A6.jpeg 1E7B232F-DA55-4B33-82DD-1010568F6335.jpeg

The full name of the inventor, which may help your search, is Arthur B. Here's a list of his patents. (I don't know if it's inclusive.)

The loose piece appears to latch on to the end of the strap. Then what is it like? Is the fitting the same on both ends?

Hi all thanks for replying found out what the object is, it’s an armchair ashtray my son was able to tell me but with my vast experience (ahem) I didn’t think it could be for smoking ! E2F01191-0399-4703-8CF2-FCA40143C041.jpeg
