Featured Help to identify unusual item

Unsure of material, feels almost like plastic to me but again do not know. Any help is appreciated. Cannot see any marks, again could be on underside that is glued to base. Many thanks

    Im throwing this out there but not sure its relevant. I have an Italian statue identified by Walter that looks a lot like this one.

    I do like it. It looks like glazed ceramic to me. Want to thhink it's pre-WWII, but I don't hink there's any sure way to know. I think the base is more likely alabaster than marble, just from that sort-of bruising it shows.
