I bought this yesterday at a local thrift store. I had one before & I believe this board gave me the artist's name, but I can't remember - or make out - the artist's name - can someone help me with this again?
    Thanks

The red 'whiskey noses' are a nice attention to detail.

It seems to be titled across the top on the red banner. Maybe some more photos would help?
    Marchetti looks right.

I don't think this was a bad buy. EDIT: Of course, I don't know what the price was.

I also don't think all the guys have their hands down their pants.

This style reminds of someone, but "marchetti" is not helping me here. :hilarious:

Price was $7.95 - and I didn't notice their hands; I saw the balloon noses and knew it was by a listed artist known for doing that in all his paintings.

You can't tell from the pics but all of their noses (and the lady's nipple area) are almost like balloons - they come off the canvas like a 3d relief piece

i think its only supposed to be suggestive, a bit like the old uk seaside humour postcards, and people certainly collect them !

like you say though, the faces do ring a bell from something ive seen before

I remember those UK seaside postcards Charlie, I was raised in Margate, Kent, right by the seaside, holiday visitors would arrive there in Droves every summer and those postcards would be out on racks everywhere, we weren't allowed to look at them but we did, until the shopkeeper shooed us away, I never understood them anyway but was attracted to the interesting artwork .. this picture is interesting although I don't understand it, It's not exactly my cup of tea ... Joy. :)

Well, my older brother, about 12yrs old at the time was VERY interested in them .. that's why we made stops at them. I never understood them but I was a drawer and painter as a child and the artwork interested me. My memories of my beloved England are always vivid in my mind .. have been back on trips and loved every minute of it ... Joy. :)
