Help w/Gold Hallmark or Maker's Mark.

Can you all please help ID this 14K gold hallmark or maker's mark?

The marks are on the back of a bail attached to a piece of jade in the form of a small scroll...

Boy that's a tough one. I'm seeing a shape of a sideways chick in the letter D, lol....

I "think" it might be a flower(?) with the #4 at middle....not sure.

I suppose the mark doesn't matter?, it's the jade, but still would love to know who or what mark that is. The bail's style appears Art Deco(?) to me, but I could be wrong.

 

Could be a watch fob and date from the periods when gents wore pocket watches in their waistcoats.

I don't think the bail is old enough for that. The whole thing could easily be Chinese though, a pendant for a lady. If that's a Chinese maker's mark you'll never find it. The jade bit might be older than the gold holding it.

 

It sorta looks like its shaped like a toggle,I wonder if it was a Chinese version of the button ?

The bail's bar goes all the way through the top portion of the jade.

@ Johnny, thanks. The jade appears to be in the shape of a small un-inscribed scroll or possibly an inkrest. I'll search toggle/button and see what I can find. Thank you!
