Can anyone help i need to know exactly what i have and if anyone knows of the value

I am led to believe its a ww2 ring apparently owned by polish man which was a airmen in the war.. does contain real gold as i am a jeweller by trade but outside is silver colour and can not clarify unless i send to my bullion dealer if its silver metal outside.

Markings are what looks to be german imperial eagle. Also has ccc
Engraved which i believe stands for Civilian Conservation Corps, and a animal which looks like a bull.

    Thanks for any info

    Welcome!
First thing that will help you is to not post photos in links for we don't know you yet and most will not open them.
Make your photos under 1mb and use the ENLARGE button.

Am guessing that is a lion rather than a bull. Unless this can be linked to something historically significant that anyone really wants (Nazi?), I would think the value to be pretty close to the scrap value.

Maybe it is the pictures but it looks a normal gold colour to me.

Are there no markings inside the shank?

The photos are not very clear, but it looks like a number of "fake" family crest rings made in the 60's/70's.

Hi sorry for the link and sorting the pictures out. Yes it does look like a lion as that would normally state silver. But looks like a bull too :). Thanks for any help
No markings inside i have tested the gold and seems around 9ct did not try for 14 15 as thats easier with a lazer tester. I am awaiting someone to tell me more.
Basically it came into the shop for scrap purchased cheaply as were taking a risk.

The mid section of the ring is silver colour going 3rd of the way round. although it looks gold in the pictures

Interesting ring!! My first thought with the CCC was the Civilian Conservation Corp of the Great Depression. The oak leaf sides fit in that scenario; however, the shield doesn't. The shield seems to have a Nazis type eagle in the top left quandrant and a lion in the bottom right quandrent. Symbols for the CCC are a tree and something else. There are several CCC rings out there such as..

I did find a WWII Nazis RAD ring with very similar leaf sides...

Need to scroll at least 3/4th if the way down the page to "RING-130
    WWII German RAD Honor Ring"

Its not a standard signet ring i am a jeweller so i know that. But i am not knowledgeable on stuff like this. Yes reminds me of a nazi ring by the engravings. I will look up the links now thanks

Could it be Soviet? That would explain the markings, or lack of same, the low karatage and the CCC.

Just a comment, the testing 'gun' works with X-rays, not a laser. It measures X-ray flourescence.

Listen i did not come on this forum for sarcastic little boys like yourself i asked a question for some help .i will tell you Your not a know it all so grow up mate. The ring you mentioned is just a signet ring like its a run of the mill ring . I said its not yes its a signet style but obviously its been made for a purpose of some sort. Thats what i were trying to say..

Also yes i realise its a x ray machine i just call it a lazer machine sorry i do not need to be corrected and explained to.

Thanks to all good people for your input and help its much appreciated.

Hmmmm... you say you are a "jeweler",did you actually look at the ring with a loupe? The poor photos show it is a low grade casting with flaws a real jeweler should have fixed before it was originally sold.A passant lion in a crest design does not denote silver in any context.

"The mid section of the ring is silver colour going 3rd of the way round." So,does this mean part of the shank was replaced with a silver colored metal,It should be easy to see solder lines if so.

It is actually 'laser' since it is an acronym for 'light amplification (by) stimulated emission (of) radiation'.

The ring is a normal signet ring by any standard, it has an intaglio design originally intended to impress on sealing wax to seal a letter or document, the seal surface typically slightly raised from the body of the ring.

It depicts an eagle (an eagle displayed sable beaked langued and membered quartered paly a lion passant) and a lion. common heraldic elements and they could be a town arms, a personal arms ar just a fantasy element arms. That eagle has been part of the German arms since 1950 and also during the Weimar Republic. It is not particularly Nazi and not considered so in Germany or it would not be used to this day.
I suspect this ring dates from the 1960s when they enjoyed a brief period of fashion.

Although many would call this a signet ring it is not.(I know it is not yours, it is just an example). I'd call it a fraternal ring as the insignia is for display, not sealing, as was the original use of the signet since medieval times.

No need for you to speak in such a way, at least not publicly...if even then.
If you feel the need to do so I suggest you feel better by being more diplomatic about it in the use of the conversation option to seek an understanding with Komo.
