Hello again. A friend has these 2 pieces and has asked for help with identifying them and coming up with a value. I know next to nothing about Asian pottery other than what I have seen here, most of which i did not retain. I am aware that there are many copies of good pieces and that newer pieces are often marked to appear to be antique. I do not have these pieces in hand, I have only these photos my friend sent. Any info is helpful.

I will ask her to get me photos of the lids and underside of the lids when she is where the pieces are.

Thanks for any and all help.

    Linda

    Hi Linda

these both look modern/modernish to me, so value would be decorational value
could be wrong, but thats the feeling i get from them both ;)

,, this one in red.... spot on..... but red..... and it looks stamped not painted...so I'd suggest an honour mark , latter 1900's............. unless someone ran out of red paint !!!!!

She is a very good friend who has helped me with a variety of things in the past. She and her boyfriend purchase abandoned storage lockers and we have collaborated on several things. These items are for the annual garage sale at her church. Thank you for all the input.

Off-centre marks on Chinese porcelain usually mean recent mass production.
As komo said, the yellow one is very recent, they were fashionable around 2000. It is nicer than the other one, but both have decorative value only.
