Inside box it says 70% silver. Back of spoon has a hallmark and 70*. Am I to assume correctly it's 70% silver, as in silver silver? Chinese or Japanese? Korean? Thanks for any info!

If Korean, the symbol after 70% is not a hallmark.

You may be able to see a match between what's on the box or the sticks and something on this page from the 925-1000 site about Korean marks.

    https://www.925-1000.com/Fkorea_01.html

They do apparently allow 700 silver.

the sign in the circle means silver in Korean.
they use metal sticks only, no wood.
the sign in the soup spoon is a Chinese sign; the family names and sometimes other items like Gods etc. are in Chinese script.
