Help with a cameo...

got this piece from my friend who is cleaning out grandmas place...I think it’s glass??? Help??? Anything? I’m going to go over it again for markings...any idea what yeR? How old?

Glass (or plastic/resin). If you google "white glass cameo goddess column," you'll see many identical pieces.

(caveat: the amount of black paint remaining and the settings will vary)

I think it may be glass, based on first pic where light can be seen through it. If plastic it would have to be a translucent type, which is also possible. The setting looks fairly recent to me. Let's say 1980s? That is just a wild guess.

 

Agree, it is fairly recent. I suspect it is resin, but will wait for Ashley's reply.

 

You have good answers already. Glass, I think, not plastic. A photo of the back may or may not affect opinion on age. It is molded cameo that was of no great value when new, now with signs of wear.

Ashley, try the tooth tap test, yes, I am serious! Tap a piece of glass on your front teeth, tap a piece of plastic, you will be able to tell the difference immediately! Now tap your cameo and you will know which it is.

This is a tried and true test Joolies have been using for years
