Featured Help With A Shiwan Pottery Makers Stamp

7 3/4" Tall Shiwan Pottery Piece of what I believe is a Chinese Sparrow.

The first row on the stamp is Master Shiwan Potter, Luo Chuan's (羅傳) real name which is Luo Weiqun (羅偉全). Followed by what look like archiac pictograms telling a description or short story, perhaps about this piece.

Can someone in the group translate those archaic pictograms?

George -You might also post to the Asian Art Forum. There's good odds they'll put you on 'ignore', but you never know ?
PS-They're definitely not as responsive as this forum, but experts occasionally pop in.

Unfortunately, no. If it was proper Chinese characters I might be able to walk them through a translator for you guys, but not something like this.

Ok, so I did get it figured out. A Chinese translator from a Facebook group was more than a little patient with this silly white boy trying to decipher this Chinese script !

The entire stamp/mark is 羅傳製陶. 羅傳 is the artist's name. 製陶 is pottery works.

Those two characters are 製陶 - meaning pottery works. 製 is manufacture as shown in green, 陶 is pottery as shown in yellow.

I thought about that, but you are right. I might be mistaken but that forum use to respond, and rather quickly. Not so much these days.

I'm probably the last human on this planet not on FB ! There's two many interesting sites-I give up.
Can you tell us all what the FB group was that translated this for you ?
I know this would be manna from heaven to some of our wanna be Orientalists,Japanophiles, and Schmucks who just wanna make a buck.
PS-Lastly,now that you know who made it-are you set for life ?

There are two groups that I like for this kind of thing. This particular fellow is a member of both. He and of course others visit and reply to posts within both groups. But like most groups they appreciate and are more willing to chime in as long as the member posting has at least put a little effort into doing some initial research on their own first.

Not set for life, just until this schmuck's eBay listing ends with having made an extra buck or two. Lol ;)

Read the rules of the group. Some are fine with sellers asking questions and others not. There are groups for just about any collecting area. Careful you don't go down the rabbit hole!!

PS-Seems the Asian Art Forum is close to extinct ?
