the lower right hand corner says GRM. Have searched the internet and sites I subscribe to, like AskArt...no luck.

Any ideas? The style is distinctive. Thanks in advance!

The style is distinctive. Done in crosshatch. Sure to look familiar to someone.

    Could it be CRM?

Your piece is driving me nuts as I swear I’ve seen this work but have no idea if yours is that artist or someone who has copied a known artist under different initials. I can’t find anything under GRM but there is a monogram for CRM on artistsignatures.com One month is $9.95

I think there is a famous painting that looks similar to this but in color. Saw it somewhere...

It’s definitely in my head too but I cannot place it. If it were mine I’d probably pop the $10 out of curiosity.

That’s hysterical. Maybe. I have no idea but I know I’ve seen the work (not necessarily that one).

I am also sure I have seen it too - in a children's book, I believe. (I know that I'm starting to sound like a broken record on the "children's book idea." ;) )

I’ll pop for the artist’s signature today and let you know what I find. If anyone comes up with the artist let me know! upload_2020-9-29_9-10-50.png

It's like a cross between a Grant Wood lithograph and Hobbiton.

I’d give it a much stronger slide to the latter.

How about this for a story summary - Farmer has been removing rocks from his fields and the crow thinks they are eggs and tries to defend them from removal. :D

For the child's book, y'all aren't thinking Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are) are you? Style is a tiny bit similar, though the work in this post isn't his.

No, I wasn't thinking of him. And besides, most illustrated books for kids are written and drawn by different people.

Something about it reminds me of Tomie DePaola, but I doubt it is.

Nope-I’ve seen the same art although I don’t know if it was this specific piece.

What do we see on this drawing?
A farmer? A miner? A prisoner? Pick ax. Raven. Stones?

With all those black sploshes it could fall under CKM or GKM?
