    Hi all,
I have this cute little piece, found a couple more on-line that say a tea caddy, but to me, from the size it seems small for a caddy (3 3/4"H x 3", weighs 148g). Is this a tea caddy? From the marks it is by H. Hooykass, looking at the Silver Collection page I believe the mark is for 1946 or later. Has some black inside that I'm hoping will clean up
    any info appreciated
    thanks for looking:)

Yes, it is the Hooykaas mark, a well known maker. It is a cutie.
Given the 'Hollandmania' subject, it was probably made shortly after the last HH mark was introduced. The lion mark with a 2 (.833 fineness) was in use until 1953, so the time frame is 1946-1953. My guess is closer to 1946, because of the subject.
Traditionally the Dutch drink coffee rather than tea.;) Tea was usually for breakfast only.
For Dutch use this shape is a tea caddy.
