first name that comes to my mind is Meret Oppenheim. could be "in the style of" or in succession of her 1936 fur lined tea cup.

What's on the back? Foil? Doesn't look terribly old. (And wasn't expensive in its time. Dime store might have been the source.) If I had to guess, I'd think 1950s into the early 1960s.

Can’t imagine that the designer of that pin had any clue who Oppenheimer was but I love the association!

true. I knew she existed but only learnt to know her when mother shlepped in one of her horrendously expensive limited and signed books in the 70s or 80s.

Hope you still have the book! She remains my idol of Surrealism. Beyond love. Chills every time I see the cup and other works over the decades.

no, not around anymore. mom sold it when she downsized.
we have a house named after MO; frankly, most people find it disgusting; which didn't amaze me, I hate Herzog & de Meuron.

Wow! I’m not an architectural modernist which surprises me as I am a modernist for art and jewelry but I do think they’re really interesting and would love to see Prada Tokyo!

the problem with "Duke and the Moron" :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: is that they can allow themselves anything in Basel and even tried to influence cantonal popular votes on behalf of their clientèle from the pharmaceutical industry. they destroyed the silhouette of the whole city with the Roche Towers; Basel was following for a long time the old Haussmann rules for Paris with 4 levels for apartments and an additional level under the roofs for the domestic workers.

I completely understand although I’ve never been there but such is contemporary architecture. Basel remains on my list to visit one day during art fair. Until then, it’s Basel Miami and now we don’t even have that!

    Getting back to the pin.
Agree. I'd lean more with the 1960s.
    Probably mink.
    Looks like a Poinsettia.

Could certainly be early 1960s. Buyer might have added matching belt to ensemble.
