Help with Hallmark

    Any ideas? I have been searching Hallmarks for hours already! I figured it was a plated serving tray, but the Lion is throwing me off - Can they put a Lion on a plated item? Thanks.

    Hi, Robert! Yes, indeed, they "can" and "did" put lions on other than sterling! (It's the size, shape & placement of the lion, combined with other marks, that means it's sterling.)

    Here, you have the letters EPNS under the lion. Those letters stand for electro-plated nickel silver, which tells you immediately that it's plated.
