Featured help with id of small colourful pottery vase

    hey there, having problems decribing this little drip glaze pottery vase

    was wondering approx age, origin etc

    anyone hazard a guess ?

    Knee jerk reaction is japanese,maybe 1960s.But I could be way off ! pretty little thing.

    I don't think it is Japanese. I think it is 1800s pottery. Whether American or European, I don't know.

    i told myself that i wouldnt buy things that werent marked, cause their hard to sell

    but couldnt resist for 50p !!

    It is very cute.
    My mother had something similar, her collection was mostly European (including British), but I don't remember where this style was from.

    Clay is very like Devon pots, but the glaze is more Belgian. I think Belgian, early 20th.

    About all I can say is that I don't think it's US production. The bottom is wrong for most of our manufacturers except perhaps for Haeger and it doesn't fit their style. I'm leaning towards continental. @verybrad may be able to help. He knows far more about these pieces than I do.

    I also think Belgian or, possibly, French in origin. Pre WWII, I should think.

    it looks like my belgian mini vase in other thread,i think they are in same period based on the colour,style and the size :rolleyes:
