Hello Board Friends - I am trying to figure out where this came from and whether it had any other function than as just a vase. It stands about 6" tall. There is a rather elaborate mark on the bottom that I don't recognize. There is a six pointed star inside a circle inside a shield. The star has two arrows and the initials KNC. There are some dark areas on the surface (from a label?) that I would like to even out but I'm unsure of how to proceed. Normally I would try a glue remover but surface is rough and I'm afraid it might be a little porous. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
    Don
