Help with identifying furniture

Can anyone help me identify this piece and approximate age?

 

Greetings, Giamar. We're going to need some words to go with the pictures. At least dimensions of each part and overall. A description of how the upper part opens (I see the doors that swing out to each side below, but I can't tell from the pictures how the upper part works?

Did any information at all come with the piece. How did you get it? Where? Any labels, markings of any kind? Can we see a picture of the back?

 

40" tall, 16" deep, 34" wide. Top flips up, being held by fabric. Middle folds down with a sliding bracket. It has numbers on the back. I bought it 20 years ago at a flea market.

 

Well, those 2 holes say "entertainment center" of some kind to me.

 

That was my initial though but the spaces seemed kind of small.

 

Maybe it was used for a stereo rather than a TV, it sees big enough for that
