Help with identifying this cast iron piece please…

    Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, but have been reading posts here on and off for awhile. I found this at an antique shop that was closing, it was labeled as a string holder, but I haven’t seen any other string holders like it. It is 6-1/4” long x 5-7/8” wide x 4-3/8” tall and mounts onto the underside of something. The handle for pulling open the door is broken. Any ideas?
