image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Have had this lamp since 1989, I have tried for years to find information on it. I have not been able to find any kind of makers mark on it and It weighs a ton. She is holding a fruit basket and I can tell their use to be some color on it... Any info would be highly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the board.
    She's very pretty.

I think that she was probably a new lamp in the early 1980s.
I'm looking at the phillips screw on the back.

Thank you for the reply. I was always under the impression this was added later, because the plate seems to look newer than anything else. She has definitely stumped me for years. She is gorgeous. Thank you. I believe she is made of bronze also.

Wait for others to come along and reply. Be sure to check back tomorrow, as people come and go all day.

As for being bronze, she may be plated over another metal.

Can you take a shot of the bulb area without a light bulb plugged in?

Is the bottom covered with felt or is it open?

Also, how are the glass shades attached to the fitter rings?

Dale Tiffany made a lot of similar art shade, bronze type accent lamps. I have two that are about 20 years old.

The bottom was covered in felt but has fallen off over time. It is open on the bottom with an electrical component that I don’t recognize.

    Hi,
Back in the 1982 I found a box of 12 of those ruffled shades in a lighting store that was going out of business. I paid 8 dollars for the box of 12 shades. They were made in Poland. I took the stickers off and sold them on eBay for 14.99 each. Took a week but they all sold. In the late 1970s I found a lot of plaster of Paris statues of half naked women. I gave them a faux bronze finish. I paid 3 to 5 dollars for the plaster and about 1.75 for the bronze rub on wax. The sold like hot cakes in a friends store for 75 dollars each.

Does the glass shade thread onto the threaded section?

My opinion is, this is a later version of an antique lamp. Very pretty, just not terribly old.

In terms of the material, you can check if a magnet is attracted to it. If so, cast iron/steel-based. If not, you can do a [small] test scratch underneath where nobody can see. Use something small like a flat screwdriver and just lightly scratch and look at the color. Silver would likely be spelter/pot metal. Yellowish gold would be brass, and bronze would be a slightly darker/copperish looking color.

Wow... thanks everyone. Knowing a bit of information about its origins is really helpful... I bought it because I thought it was a beautiful piece.

Definitely a modern reproduction of an art nouveau figural lamp.
