    Hi

I've been trying tonight to find out something (anything) about a large porcelain bowl with Chinese markings. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

The dark color and all of the crazing are not typical of Chinese porcelain. Does it "ring" like porcelain? (Set it on a hard surface and tap the rim with your fingernail.)

Tagging someone who may know - @Ce BCA ?

I wonder if it is Vietnamese, they make that colour ceramics with crazing.
@kyratango , do you think this could be Vietnamese?

I agree that it's not Chinese. Those characters on the base seem to be something other than Chinese or Japanese, but what, I don't know. Vietnamese is a possibility. I like to say, "somewhere in south-east Asia." :D The crazing is intentional and I don't think it's very old, but a pretty piece nonetheless.
