Help with lathe turned wooden covered jar please.

    Hopefully someone can help me with what kind of wood it is made from & some keywords to use to describe it in the listing.

    It is 11 3/4" to the top of the handle on the lid, 8 1/2" to the side edge & 3 3/4" across the top.

    I saw some listed items described as Treen, but I thought is was a old item & I do not believe this piece is very old.

    Treen is just a name for small handmade wooden items.:)
    A lot of these are made in the Balkans, Bulgaria and countries that were once part of Yugoslavia. Don't know if this one is though.

    I tried to gently pull off the green felt hoping that maybe the bottom held some type of clues. However I think it may have been applied when it was made & is not one of the stick on felt pads you can buy.
