    There is a very old and still produced pattern called Black Ship. It's a depiction of Dutch or Portuguese trading ships. Yours might be a variation of that. Can't comment on the age.

    I was unable to find an exact match to this set of characters, but the overall "crackle" effect is usually a sign of 20th century manufacture. It was intentional and not the result of natural aging.
