I don't know if this ring is silver, white gold or platinum.

    All acid tests are inconclusive.

There is the tiniest mark on the inside that I cannot see with a glass or USB microscope.
On the outside I saw these two marks with a USB, appears to be a scorpion and possible Arabic lettering.

The copper on the edge is a trick of the light.

Ah, found it. The ant is meant to be a 'pentatome', a shield bug. Don't have a link, I found it in Tardy. But this is the bug:

And yes, French. As we know, the French love bugs.:pompous: At least our French member kyra does.:playful:

If French what about the other mark ? Is it possibly French Algerian, Moroccan, Syrian ?

It doesn't look like a North African or Middle Eastern mark to me, and I can't think of anything else. Looks like it has an A in it.
It could be French, but it doesn't have the shape of a French maker's mark. I think we need @kyratango 's expert eye.

Tried to tweak it a bit, hope that helps. Looking at it now, it doesn't look much like a pentatome, but there could be differences in punches.

The marks of French assay offices looked like they were written in some mysterious script, so it could be an assay office mark.

Sorry, never seen these kind of marks... The ant nearly looks like a NAZCA desert line motif:facepalm: The other one seems a A and 5, but brobably not...:bucktooth:

The one to the left of the A mark looks Korean.

I don't know much about Korean marks. I have some Korean jewellery, and will check those for marks.
Not seeing anything on this page that resembles it, but my eyesight isn't what it used to be:

Just checked my Korean 'stuff'. It says 14k, no Korea-specific mark. I want my money back!:rage::hilarious:

I took a photo of the beetle mark, but my computer seems to have some issue with my camera at the moment. All I can say is that it is a nice plump beetle, not a skinny ant.:playful:

I used an eye glass and a loupe together and managed to see the tiny mark on the inside.
    Its another Ant.

I think it is neither a Portuguese nor a French hallmark. The French ant hallmarks look differently and are used for imported items from countries that follow the same standards/regulations as the French (otherwise it is the owl).
