Help with mirror

I usually don’t have any to do with this sort of thing but this frame made me hold on to this. Top part unscrews and has a patent #1842482. If anyone can tell me anything about it it is appreciated. It seems some time was put into this frame

 

I think your mirror dates to around 1910-1920s.

Found a couple of histories of Herb and Meyers. I didn't read through them.
