Featured Help with old artwork. (Like shadow art)

This artwork belongs to my sister who I spent yesterday with. This artwork that I have seen many times over the years fascinates me. It hangs in her spare room where I sleep when I go to her house. It is 12 X 15 inches. She got it from her Mother in law who was Polish if that helps but it was a gift and wasn't told where it was from or what it was. The heads of the screws look like flowers. Anyone seen this before? Thanks.

It looks like it might be an example of Polish paper cutting art, "wycinanki". You can find similar pieces using the German term "scherenshnitte". The women in your piece look like they have traditional long braids, with ribbons at the ends. And the well pole contraption (similar to a "shaduf") was common in traditional Polish villages.

In the second panel, there is a stork and nest on the rooftop. Having a stork nest on your house was thought to be a harbinger of good luck, fertility, and prosperity. Storks have cultural significance in Poland and a significant number of storks nest in Poland.
