Hi, I need help identifying this old painting. I don't know if it's an etched or hand painting, I bought it for $3, the signature Seems to read Eco jose or fco jose.
    Any idea please.

I can't tell. Is there a plate mark (indentation) around the image?

It might be a monotype: a technique where ink is applied to an unworked plate and manipulated with brushes or fingers or whatever. It's in the nature of a monotype that each image is unique.

Abdel, have you taken it out of its frame? Anything on the back?

There are other artists with that name, although I’ve not found one working in the same style.

Yes. From broken frame and nothings on the back. Maybe reframed many times...

Well, I see "Fco Jose" and Fco could be (as above) an abbreviation for Francisco. But José is written with an accent.

Okay. We now know the artist is very likely Spanish. That's helpful. Address is working class neighborhood and telephone number is pre-1998. Framer has moved to another location (below.) Do think name is Francisco José. But given that Mar Cris was a neighborhood glass shop and not a fine art framer, suspect not an artist of import.

Certain was an old spanish printmaker or lithorgraphie.

Don't know about "old," abdel. Where in the world did you find this work?

Whoever made it or whenever it was made, I really like it! Well worth reframing, I'd say, and I hope you find out more about it.
