    Hi,

Thanks very much for your input.

The JINGDEZHEN name has cracked the case for me. I hoping it does have some good age to it. I've heard that rust spots denote some age, but also they can be faked also

I hate to be a kill joy. I have one that is very similar to the one Gila linked to. Mine is Jiangxi Jingdezhen Min Ci made between 1950 and 1966. It was bought new in the mid 1970s. I keep a dry flower arrangement in it.

The one on eBay is Zhongguo Jingdezhen Zhi - China Jingdezhen Made with the factory letter of "N". It was made after 1950 to yesterday.

These ginger jars were turned out in mass production for export. Yours is not marked soooo not sure of age, but would guess the later half of the 20th century.

To see the markings I spoke of above, go to the link below and to see

    1. My marks/backstamp scroll about 1/4 of the way down the page to the section"Jiangxi Jingdezhen Min Ci - (Jiangxi Jingdezhen Reputable Porcelain)" and look at #437. As mine doesn't have a factory number or letter it was made in Hong Kong.
    2. For the mark/backstamp on the eBay jar, scroll a good 3/4ths of the way down the page to the section "Zhongguo Jingdezhen Zhi - China Jingdezhen made (Right to Left)" and look at #s: 235, 519 and 1189.

The enamels, colors and drawing style suggest post Republic. Could have a bit of age but that's all.
You've heard right about rust spots.
