With that fringe it looks more like a rug than a blanket. Souvenir?

Looks like the monogram A.E.T. Could be anyone. And given woven PERU, suspect souvenir an accurate descriptor.

There's nothing wrong with the quality of your rug and it's quite handsome. But it was likely produced for the tourist market which would be why the Quecha weaver included "PERU" in her design. A couple of similar pattern in this photo.

I’m not disagreeing but how fast are they made to have been monogrammed in the weave? Just asking

And just my opinion but the lines don’t look as sharp and look considerably rushed in comparison to your similar design photo

Yes, yours does appear to be of better quality than those in photo. And it's the weaver's initials, not the buyers. Weaving is a tradition Quecha art form and, these days, a home industry. These rugs aren't just whipped off the loom. If you've ever seen the blankets brought to market in the Andes and presented to middlemen for sale, it's quite a serious, hold-your-breath business. Souvenir or no, quality is important.

Yes I can see the difference in quality all the way from the colors to a not rushed weave. I was thinking you were saying monogrammed for the buyers initials. I see it as if this is the artist they took pride in it to put their signature and country

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

maybe there's a complete list of Peruvian weavers , active during the last 50 years , that we could source to match the initials ????
does anyone know where to find such a list ?
The Government or maybe the Board of Commerce....or the Association of Territorial Weavers Economic Regional Panel .. also known as ..... ATWERP !
