I bought this painting for $20 because I thought it would sell in my store. It's about 2' by 3'.
It looks amateurish to me, but just in case, can anyone read this signature?

I just noticed when I posted this here that it looks like the painting is puckered at the top. It desn't look that way in person - I'll have to look when I go the store tomorrow.

Its quite charming, and if its by an amateur they are a darn good one. Can we get a little clearer pic of the signature?

The man on the right is wearing a typical Bavarian hat with badger hair brush. Pa had one. The stove is also very Bavarian or at a pinch, Tyrol. Lovely cosy things.

It's very well done. Slightly cutesy, but nothing wrong with that. My only caveat is that I'd check it isn't one of those really well done prints on canvas?

I see no quality, depth missing, doubtful perspective especially around the window, no visible brushstrokes.
how old is the canvas looking ?

if not Chinese factory-made for Octoberfests, then perhaps check the painters of the Münchner Schule.

The stretcher bars have Made in Finland incised into them. Is that helpful ?
