Picked this up today and wondering if anyone recognises the signature/maker's mark? It looks like 'RFitz' to me... under a loop the 'i' is dotted but the 'z' could be 'J', or even 'Jr'/'Fr'?? I've been searching the internet but found nothing.

    Also, any idea of date?

This isn't my field, but it jumped out at me, and for very little money I couldn't resist! It measures about 5 x 3.5cm.

That's what I got too. Nothing popped up on a quick search with that name.

It's a cool piece, esp. 5 inches across. The fact that it is signed would have caught my eye, too.

I see RFH. It looks like the proverbial two blokes in a shed-type piece, i.e. artisan, and probably by someone whose name we'll never know. Someone took sheet copper and some dies and hand stamped it. The person might be Pacific Coast Native American and might be Bob from Pittsburgh.

Thanks everyone! I like the 'rustic' nature of it, and intrigued by the signature, which I can now see is almost certainly RFH. Funny how our brains work, because I just didn't see that before!

Googling RFH just brings up Royal Festival Hall, lol. Looks like it'll just have to remain unknown!
