    Hi All,
I'm striking out trying to find this mark, it is so tiny, very hard to see - looks like a flower, maybe a rose, then sterling. The box is for a Canadian jewelry store so I think Canadian made but not finding it.
edit: now that I look at the photos enlarged, maybe it is a tree?
    any information appreciated
    thanks for looking

Apparently for some period of time, Birks used a sheaf of wheat. But I can't really say that's what this mark was meant to be.

The mark and sterling are poorly hand engraved, probably the store's mark and not the manufacturer.

Don't believe the mark was engraved - and really, what reason would there be to engrave a copy of a relatively obscure mark on an object that would have no extra value bearing it? There are always variants in manufacturer's marks, and they're often significantly different - frankly, this one is more consistent than many (looks like the base of the tree trunk was broken off the punch used on the OP's)...

Two bottom marks pulled from OP's pics:

Wonderful, thank-you Cheryl for the information and taking the time to make a comparison photo of the marks, they sure look the same to me:)
