Help with sword. Pls pls pls

    Found a sword doing a clean out. It is made by the WK&c Company. It is engraved with a saying , name and the date 1904 On the handle. Blade is not sharp but in it is edged. “ In treue fest”. It has a tassel.

    I think WK&C were made in Germany or Austria. If you post a photograph people might be able to help ID if it was ceremonial or a military sword.

    Resize the photographs. If you are using a phone, usually sending the photograph to yourself in an email will work. It will give you the option of small, medium and large. Medium is usually small enough.

    I believe it was ceremonial because it is not sharp

    With that knot...a presentation or ceremonial sword is most likely...
    But this pic is just not enuf to make a better call.....
    that and you must have forgot to tell us what size it is...;)

    handle of an artillery short sword....mid 1800's..... ( not verified..)

    After researching it a while ago I came to the conclusion is possibly a Belgian officer sword. Let me put up the engravement

    looks like a Bavarian artillery sabre.
    they were - and are - not ceremonial, but sharpened only in time of war (Kriegsschärfe).
