Help with these old tables please

    There are two of these. Any help with where they might have been made, when, and wood type would be great. Are these clunky end tables or would they be used somewhere else? TIA

    This look was very popular in the 60's , I really dont know what youd call it .

    I agree on time and homemade. Could even have been made by replacing the center from a ship's hatch.

    Nice and sturdy too. Odds are someone found the table top and made the base to match. It looks like the sort of thing my grandfather did.

    They might not be homemade. We still have some of this type of furniture around from when the kids were little, from the 80's I think. There were at least two companies that made this style, look at "This End Up" and "Cargo" furniture.

    Thank you all! I think Say It is correct, these were probably the earlier 80s versions. Coincides with the era of the house where these were found.
