Can anyone help with this little box? All the inlaid design on the top has a thin brass trim. The hinges are hidden up into the wood and the seams have wooden pegs no glue nails or staples. The design has a Folk Art look to me.

Is that one brass lined? With little different pieces of wood or one piece?

Your box is from Poland, date probably 1970s-80s. Lovely folk motif and hand made, but a lot of these were made. Similar motifs are seen on Polish embroidery.
Tribal Polish. A Northern Slavic tribe.:playful:
Very different culture and not nearly as numerous as the recent Polish souvenir boxes. That one is early 20th century Jepara, North Java, Indonesia. Handcarved and most likely teakwood. I know which one I prefer.;)

Yours isn't of different pieces of wood either. What looks like wood inlay is actually staining of one and the same piece of wood for a nice decorative effect.
