Featured HELPING MY NEPHEW With a Brass Pistol He Inherited From His Father....

  1. Aquitaine

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Total length is 9".....it looks like the grasp/stock? my brother did as we don't think he got it with one, and it just looks like his work....but that's about all we know as anyone we could ask is no longer with us! The name on the side has given me a bit of trouble, but now we "THINK" we have it figured out.....PLEASE comment if you think we're wrong.... at present we're going with "M. NUGVID", as the enlarged image seems to support that rendition the best.....BUT initially we thought "M. DUGUID"......which DOES come up with a general Scottish ancestral hit for the name only......nothing for 'Nugvid'. ONE of his (my nephew) main questions is, he's not seen brass pistols before.....any thoughts?? WHO are the history buffs here on antique guns??? @daveydempsey ??? Thanks for any help and input!!! It looks like N. Duguid to me.
Nice name, Dogood. Better than Dolittle.;)

I'd think you had it right with DUGUID, but may be written, DuGuid, hence the differing and slightly more fancy handling of the "D"
