ChineseBWhole.JPG ChineseBClose.JPG ChineseCWhole.JPG ChineseCClose.JPG ChineseBWhole.JPG ChineseBClose.JPG ChineseCWhole.JPG ChineseCClose.JPG I've been collecting antiques starting with my family items and adding for many, many years. When I discovered that only one of my 5 children had any interest she was given any and every piece she wanted. But the rest has been downsizing for a bit over ten years with a few hundred pieces to go.
One of my hobbies is research. Love doing it and love this new fangled thing called a computer. Great help. Very happy to find a new place where I may find fellow collectors willing to help. My
The HELP I need now is learning to navigate through "Antiquers" and learn to communicate. Sorry to say that I'm still incapable of asking for the help, and responding to it. Somehow I believe I even broke a rule or two. Is that "one point" I have earned already an indication of that?
I will endeavor to finally present everyone with my help when possible and a few questions when my brain absorbs the technology required. A picture or two will be added to this with my first question, providing, of course, I can finally accomplish it.
    Here goes. ChineseBWhole.JPG ChineseBClose.JPG ChineseCWhole.JPG ChineseCClose.JPG

If the above pics are what I think they are - 2 of the 9 Chinese Deities, and ID'd not by their looks, but their staffs, can you ID them? Thanks

Welcome aboard! Looks like you're already doing well figuring out how to use the site, you've got a bunch of posts already. Wish I could help with the Chinese art, not really my thing.

Welcome to Antiquers, OldGuy! Looks like you did just fine with your photos. :)

To start a thread about an item, the best way is to click "Forum" near the top left, which will display a list of subforums. Just click whichever of the subforums that seems to fit best, and start a thread there for your item.

No need to worry 'bout your age here... many of us are on the older side.

Thanks to both for the responses. I also found how to do post in ARTS. So a lot more info and questions are there. Pat P. I'm not worried about my age. Just a little bit concerned when I have a problem finding my way around and about. So I'm offering excuses.
Now if I could only find how to magnify those mood icons <;> ) I'd save a lot of time.

Oh, I had abit of a problem with them at first - but I found a simple solution...... I make sure I have my reading glasses on, then I but on my "hat" mounted jewelers magnifier, then I grab a magnifying glass in each hand, then...............oh hell, more complicated than a space shuttle - sorry!:mad:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

You did well in posting to the Art forum. More people should see the pics there. I think only the regulars look in this Introductions forum very often.

    And, welcome!

    Greetings, OldGuy!
I know what you mean about the mood icons / emoticons ... they're tiny enough that I need my glasses. I'm certain that one of these days I'll use one that makes no sense because I couldn't see it clearly (that's my story ... and I'll be sticking to it) :) :) ;)

Sorry, Greg. You have the reins with no challenge on this end. Please hang on for at least another 20 years.

My wish was granted. Susan put me on the right track via the ART site. Though I had been to it several times she found the exact one I needed. Thanks to all for the welcomes.
