Hi guys. I'm just new to here.

Hello. im very delighted to get to know you'll all. Im from Mariyan from Sri Lanka. In here there is not much knowledge available regarding antiques. so thought il be able to grab some knowledge from you'll. But i should mention the fact there are lot of antiques related to china and India. the main reason is Sri Lanka was located in the silk route.

By the way i have some old VOC coins and ceramic plates. which i would like to get some information from you'll. and some Chinese vases which i dont have much knowledge. I will upload the pics shortly. Hope you guys could help me in this matter.

I am researching my Indonesian roots and writing a book about the cultural backgrounds of the Indonesian keris (ceremonial dagger), so I come across quite a lot of VOC material. I'm sure we'll meet again in one of the forums.

 

Welcome; I visited Sri Lanka with my parents in 1959, and still remember the beautiful country, and the kind people we met.

Hey thanks for a nice welcome people. Guys there are vases i got from my grandma. They have delivered to herby her grandma. Any clue about where it belong. there is a another a single vase. ill upload it.

 

wow at @all_fakes, 1959 thats quite some time. things have changed a lot my friend. a lot. hehe. But the rural areas are still much the same.
