Has anyone tried to mail package today on the USPS site?
Wellllll....... No longer is it possible to ship a parcel like usual as Parcel Post. Now it's called 'STANDARD POST' and you cannot send this way online!!!!
    ~
    Anyone know anything different?
I'm not waiting on the phone for 30-53 minutes!!!!
    ~
It will show you the cost but what price is that? Online or at the PO???
    ~
Before you ask.... I don't know if I can complete this on PeePal either for the reason I went to USPS next was to check cost. About $2 more on PP!!!

Parcel Post was replaced with Parcel Select and Standard Post back in 2013 I believe.
Parcel Select is only available on line and will not show on the USPS website.

Standard Post is only available at the Post Office.

Pricing can be vastly different depending on zones, etc.

I've seen those terms though if you click on 'Standard Post' it will state it was formerly Parcel Post.
All I get is a myriad of Priority options and then, faaaaar down the list I get 2 I can't use. They are unavailable.
    >STANDARD POST
    >MEDIA MAIL
I know you can only pull off Media Mail by PP.
Only one of these are MM and I'm not to that one yet.
In case I got on some odd bulk or some such shipping page, I went to the USPS site a number of ways and started over, same issue.

USPS won't let you do First Class or Parcel Post on line. Never could. You can do them from Paypal if someone paid you, but not from USPS.com. That's Priority and Express only, and they try to push you to the flat rates at that.

Ummmmmm.... Well, I don't know what to tell you. I've been doing this for quite awhile now as Parcel Select. I'm not being offered that at all on their chart.
I usually check USPS against PP first and chose the best option. The only thing I couldn't do at USPS is Media but can at PP.

Should anyone want to bother to look at this here it is but I could not reduce the text size. Sorry. :p
Just talked with postman and he has no clue why this is. He also suspects system issues as I have.
Look at how many 'not available' there are.

For most items Priority is cheaper than Parcel Select

    AH!!!!!!
I have found that you are correct but I usually check.
Weird I couldn't find that in the news anywhere....... ;)

Priority often is cheaper for shorter distances. Don't ask me why. Even stranger, international first class is often faster than coast to coast. Stuff going to the UK sometimes gets there more quickly than I can ship to California, even with Customs in the way. Go figure.

No splaining Lucy what the heck USPS (Unadulterated Sheepheaded People Schticks) will do...or not do...next.
Sorry if there are any USPS employees out there but you know what I mean for those who earn such comments. I am a 'recovering' carrier so I know. ;)
There is only 1 person in the entire, large, post office near me worth talking with. She is simply lovely in all ways. The rest of the staff are amoeba who are less than useless and some rude. Put them under a slide in a microscope and... Voila! Nothing there. :p
I shipped 3 online by USPS Priority then went to PeePal for the 2 Media Mail packages.
Still don't know what is up with Parcel Select. :p
Wow I had a great day!
Where is that rant discussion...... ;)
