Featured Holy Water Font - age help please

    This item has no marks, it tests for silver. The glass has a cross on the front. Not sure if that is real mother of pearl? it is not secured tightly to the metal as you can see. 5 1/2" by 3 1/2". Most of the ones I have found sort of similar say Antique French... I am just not sure. Way out of my league on this one, thank you! font.jpg font1.jpg font2.jpg

    The scene is Lourdes, I'd think. And that looks like faux 1960s mother of pearl (but strange it'd be combined with silver.)

    You said it tested silver. Is it not marked silver?

    Not marked anywhere I can find. It certainly looks like silver.

    It seems very small -- meant for use in the home? I hadn't heard of that use, but just wondering.

    What is the yellow cloth or ribbon near the top? Is it part of the piece, or just incidental?

    It is just a ribbon someone tied on it to hang it up, it has a hanging loop.
