This is an aluminum or light metal alloy casting about 11x1.5x1” with an 8-point star-shaped mating hole in the end. The lock screw causes me to call it a lever and not a wrench. I have no idea of its function. I googled for a while and must be having one of those days where nothing works-I even failed to match Homestead to an entity.

Can you help? What does it do?

Spring, could it be that Homestead makes wrenches for its own plug valves?

I know absolutely NOTHING about this, but I saw these things online, which to me, at least, resemble what you have, and they were described as handle wrenches for lubricated plug valves:

Wowee not one but two people found the answer, I’m impressed and grateful-if I never found the answer I’d die with that failure on my mind-and that box of those things in my estate!

Only other thing I’d like to know is whether you found it using words or images. I mostly use an IPAD and the online guides on image matching must be outdated because I don’t get the screen buttons the guides say to use.

Spring, I just typed Homestead wrench into a Google search (just because it looked like a wrench to me) then went to Images, and there it was!
