IMG_4967.jpg I found this walking cane this afternoon and thought it was cool.
I don't know if this an antique, but I thought I would post as I do not know much about canes.
The head is heavy, not sure it's solid brass, but maybe brass plated or another alloy. It is non magnetic.
No markings, but if I had to guess maybe made in India??...
Anyway, I'll put it to use....

Canes can sometimes be more accurately dated by the bottom in my limited experience. Is the bottom metal, rubber, plain wood? This does look like a newer reproduction from this photo.

There's a rubber stopper, but no glue so I took it off....

Don’t know if you’re as old as me but if you’re going to use it you might want to keep it on .

Thanks... yeah I figured it might be new which is fine.
I do love the old true vintage ones with the beautifully engraved tops...... just can't really find them.....

I’ve seen a few of these for sale on eBay and I think they are mostly new. I like them though :)
