I have amassed a sizable collection of mostly silverplate flatware with the names and/or logos of hotels, restaurants, businesses, etc. I have not been able to find anything out about these three. Anybody recognize them? The first one appears to have the letters NASM within the diamond shape. (National Association of...?) Thanks!
NASM" which is for the Holland America Line Steamship Found this blurb here, but not verified. https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/elkington-silver-plate-grape-scissors-nasm
Thanks for finding this! My NASM piece is also by Elkington. Nederlandsch Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Maatschappij One piece identified, two to go!
N.A.S.M. is an Acronym for Nederlandsch-Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Maatschappij. https://www.gjenvick.com/OceanTravel/SteamshipLines/Holland-AmericaLine.html
The middle one... Looks familiar but... Thought it might be a Japanese hotel chain. Sorta Omni. But not. Does it have a maker's mark? Debora
They're clanging, honking & tooting outside right now in appreciation of our heroic health care workers such as bluumz.
The NASM one will be extremely collectible in the future, helping to explain to the children how there was once a thing called the cruise ship industry.
@Bronwen, I was wondering what the heck was going on when I think every police, fire, service & rescue vehicle in our small town came spinning around our SMALL circle about 1:00 pm today!!!! Sounds logical!! AND nice!!!! Must've been 20 vehicles in all!!!!
The middle one does look familiar, and does seem as if it would be for a hotel. But, not sure. The one on the right could be an airline, or some other transportation or shipping company? It's hard to research this sort of thing on the web. So many out there!
