Featured how do i classify this piece?

Please consult the following image:



Seller mentioned that this piece was imported from Dubai.

Whether it is native to Dubai, is unclear? May have been imported from somewhere else - possibly?

It's made from a really tough treated leather. The embellishments have an ivory-esque appearance, however I cannot confirm whether it is indeed ivory.

That's about all i got.

Any information will be appreciated.

 

Someone who is good with furniture will be along I'm sure. The shape reminds me of plantation chairs.

 

This similar chair is said to be from Morocco but don't know if that's correct.

Looks a bit like British colonial plantation chair but, with African origins and different embellishments, wonder if there is an Egyptian precedence.

 

It's very much in the style of a Butaca chair from México. But the the inlays, which are likely camel bone, certainly point east.

It is Moroccan, no doubt about it. The inlay is bone, not ivory, so you're safe.
