How old are these chaplain's shoulder boards?

    They belonged to a second lieutenant. The metal is metal and not embroidery. Dark blue fabric. The cross is angled so they're Navy. The clasp on the back is a C clasp, which indicates they may go back a ways. The question is how far?
    I don't think they're Civil War, but they could be WWI or WWII.

    Nice photos. Can you give the measurements? Initial impression is WWII+ but I need to check the sizes. They are for dress uniform.

    Call it 5/8 x 1.5 inches. The Civil War stuff was fabric if I remember right, with bullion embroidery.

    I think that type of pin is a pretty old style... more like WWI or earlier. But that's based on the very little I've seen about jewelry ,so...

    That C clasp makes them look old, maybe older than they are. It's still in use, but that curled end is one reason I'm not sure what these are.
