How old is this iron trivet?

    Seems to be wrought - not cast if I'm using that term correctly. It's about 9" across.

    Meant to assume it's likely from Mexico.
    Perhaps the design is something of note though I doubt that.

    Agree.
    If found in Europe it's probably Spanish, if found in the US it's probably Mexican.

    It's hard for me to call things old that are from around my childhood, but I'm 68 so it's relative. I think this is an older piece - 1940s or earlier, but a lot of stuff made in Mexico has been made the same way for a century or more so it's hard to tell. I'd be comfortable saying it's not Home Goods. Better quality than that.

    I used to go down to Teeny-Weeeny (Tijuana) ;) in the late 80's early 90's to a specific guy/place to buy stuff to resell in San Diego and Coronado.
    He had much steel whatever, and Mercury glass, and always had things such as this.
