how to restore dents on bronze vase

    1.jpg Does anyone have idea how to restore dents on bronze vase?

    You may possibly get some out by filling with water and freezing. You may also split it wide open.

    That depends on where the dent is. Without seeing it, can't recommend anything.

    And for what it's worth - I have tried that "fill-it-with-ice-and-freeze-it" trick.

    It doesn't seem to work especially well. Or maybe I just wasn't doing it right.

    To me dents are character. If it is really thin, you might try using a dowel to press as you rub the dent. I can't tell how wide the mouth is. I have worked dents out that way on some copper pots not a vase. however you could still tell where the dent was. so I would just leave them.

    Is it a Chinese Archaic Style vase? It looks like it could be copper, in which case a dent would be easier to press out, if you can reach it.

    Personally I would leave it and turn the vase so I wouldn't see it.;)
