looks like pewter but weights like bronze, no marking.
It is 22.5 by 11 cm and weights nearly 1 kg!
I can not find anything more or less alike...
It is ornated with the bust of Tsar Nicholas II.
    Letter clip?...

Small scratch in an miniscule area. IF the scratch shows goldish color, then plated Brass/bronze core. Just silverish under the scratch then you have that solid silvery metal, - pewter, pot metal, lead?

Thanh you all for your input!
I didn't get any notifications regarding answers on my post....

The picture before the last one shows a ding (scratch by use during the years!) and the metal is white, clearly in contrast to the brass/bronze color of the screw next to it!
Nickel, was suggested on a other forum.

Regarding the man in uniform; the hat is definitely Russian.
But the man was id as Grand Duke Nicholas Nikolaevich of Russia (1856–1929) on a other forum.
